2nd Annual Trailer Sailor REGATTA: July 23 - 24, 2016

Battlefords Sailing Club will be hosting its second annual Trailer Sailor regatta on the weekend of July 23-24. This will be a casual regatta, geared to be a fun and social event -- for the recreational sailor who would like to get together with other casual sailors for a few races and good times.

Registration will take place at our Clubhouse, located in Meota. Sailing will take place on Jackfish lake -- a large, flat-bottomed lake well suited to non-fixed-keel (or shoal draft) boats. (The lake depth easily accommodates boats such as the Macgregor 26x, but you will want to retract your centerboard/daggerboard before heading for shore.) A boat launch suitable for launching trailerable sailboats is near the clubhouse.

Our local fleet consists of two Siren 17s, a Macgregor 26x, and a Macgegor 22. We don't anticipate that the regatta fleet will be large, but do hope to meet a few new sailing friends and share some fun sailing and stories.

Camping is available in the Meota Regional Park (near the sailing club) or Battlefords Provincial Park (about 30 km from the Club). Be sure to reserve in advance.
